Boy it seems that everywhere I look these day's , there's a new magic fuel treatment promising dramatic savings on gas. Beware , a bottle of magic that cost's $12-25 bucksto treat a tank of gas is no deal. Here are some suggestions of fuel and oil additives that we have found to work well at a good price.
Good old Gum Out or STP used once a month helps to keep your fuel system and valves clean. Even the expensive gas gas station blends don't do as good of a job.
Jacobs engineering fuel additive works by sealing upper cylinder pressure at the piston rings . It also helps to keep valves clean. This product worked really well in our test vehicle with a noticeable improvement in engine performance and cost's about $12.00 for the big bottle that will treat about 10 tanks of gas on a large vehicle. 10% MPG of 1st & 2 tanks 15% thereafter.
We are in the process of testing their oil additive.
Slick 50 works by reducing internal engine friction. It's been around for years and works very well.
Redline fuel system cleaner works alot like your standard STP only better . Much more concentrated use the whole bottle to treat a quarter to half tank on the initial treatment for best results to restore fuel injector effeciency to near 96% . Available at major retailers.
Amzoil is the only motor oil proven to reduce fuel consumption and you can go for longer periods between oil changes . Synthetic oils are not made from oil products or crude oil so that's another plus in our book to reduce oil consumption.
